PROPERTY RELIEF APPLICATION

Property owners of homestead, building or improvement destroyed or substantially destroyed by a natural disaster can apply for full or partial abatement of tax. See application below.

Neighborhood Revitalization

Property owners interested in a new construction or remodel project are eligible to apply for the Neighborhood Revitalization Program. Applications must be approved by the County Appraiser BEFORE construction begins. Application requirements include a $35.00 application fee (due at the time of application), a sketch of the proposed construction or remodel project, and a construction cost questionnaire (due at project completion). Once an application has been approved, participants have until the second January 1st following application to complete the project(s). Send completed applications with payment to:

Neighborhood Revitalization Program Application


There are three active plans: Nemaha County, City of Sabetha, and City of Seneca. Each plan has specific requirements as listed below. Per each plan document, Nemaha County retains a 5% portion (or a minimum of $25.00) of the below percentages as a service fee.

Important Dates & Deadlines

    REAL PROPERTY   

The Appraiser's Office mails Real Property Valuation Notices by March 1st. If a taxpayer wants to file an Equalization Appeal, you must file the appeal in the Appraiser's Office within 30 days of the mailing. Following an appeal, the County Appraiser must provide the taxpayer with a determination by May 20th (K.S.A. 79-1448).


   PERSONAL PROPERTY

   Taxpayers must file their Personal Property Rendition in the Appraiser's Office by March 15th (K.S.A. 79-306). 

   Taxpayers must file their Oil & Gas Rendition in the Appraiser's Office by April 1st (K.S.A. 79-332a).

   If a taxpayer wants to file a Personal Property Equalization Appeal, you must file the appeal in the Appraiser's Office by May 15th (K.S.A. 79-1448).

   2024 Taxes: First half due December 20, 2024. Second half due May 10, 2025. (K.S.A. 79-2004)
